Session 11; From the concept of identity to 'The Brick'

In this project, we started by exploring ourselves. How we react to things, space, and others. How we behave and how we enact and take our place in the world. From the concept of identity, The Brick, became our point of reference. We kept talking about it. Returning to it.

In this session, we decided to paint a brick wall as a 'wall of fame' where our identities become visible.

We created words and slogans to portray how we place ourselves in the group, in our community and in the world; all about the brick.

'One in a million'
'Brix-it, Fix it'
'Born to be a brick'
'Stronger together'
'Make bricks great again'

We had a good laugh!

We used screen printing technique to print our slogans onto our tie-dye t-shirts. We also added the drawings of our bricks on the t-shirts.

Charlotte form Hampshire Cultural Trust and James, film maker, came to interview us and see what we have been up to.

Making stencils requires a lot of time and patience; we learnt to use craft knife efficiently and safely.

We ironed our T shirt brick  designs onto our t-shirts.
